RUGBY fans in Cwmann are running the gauntlet of passing traffic whenever they go and watch a match, it is being claimed.
MP Jonathan Edwards and AM Rhodri Glyn Thomas joined members of Cwmann Community Council this week to support their campaign for a pavement in the village.
Locals say a footpath at the end of the main A485 between Carmarthen and Lampeter would make the area safer for pedestrians and motorists alike.
Pedestrians who want to watch a match at the local rugby club or go shopping in Lampeter currently have to walk on the road for most of the route.
Villagers say new houses were given a planning condition to ensure space was left at the front of their properties to accommodate a pavement in the future.
