A St Dogmaels man has appeared in court charged with assault and possession of a sword hidden within a walking stick.

David Rees, of Building Plot, rear of Hunts Cottage, appeared before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on 9 October.
The 62-year-old is accused of possession of a sword stick at his home address on 16 September.
He is also charged with assaulting Tom Long.
Magistrates adjourned the case and Rees is next due to appear for a plea hearing on 30 October.
