FFOSYFFIN brothers Josh and Fin Tarling came out of lockdown in flying form, with excellent wins in the recent DB Max Timing 10-mile Time Trial at Castle Combe in Wiltshire.

Josh, 16, riding for the Backstedt Bike Performance Team is a member of the Great Britain Cycling Team Apprentice programme, and has been training hard over recent months, despite the lack of races. This first test against the clock was a good gauge of current form with, hopefully, bigger events to come later in the season.

Younger brother Fin, 13, riding for the Worx Factory Racing Team, has been tagging along with Josh on his mammoth training rides, and it is clearly paying off for him too.

Both cyclists won their age categories, with Josh completing the 10-mile course around the sunny but windswept motor racing circuit in an impressive time of 19:46, a very fast time and quick enough to no only win the Junior prize - but also place second overall out of a field of 108 starters.

Fin, despite crashing the previous day, also set a blistering time of 20:54 to successfully claim the Youth category win, and also place 6th overall.

Both cyclists will compete in a series of time trials through August and September, and will be competing in the Nation 10-mile, 25-mile and 100-mile championships while they await the return of bunch style road racing.
