CARDIGAN Town, who lifted the Emrys Morgan Cup in 2015, made their long trip north to take on Aberdyfi worthwhile as they made it through to the second round with a 2-0 win over the Cambrian Tyres Division Two outfit.

The Magpies sealed their win courtesy of a James Evans penalty and a Tom Gardner goal, against a Dyfi side that was playing with a bare 11 players.

St Dogmaels will also fly the flag for the Costcutter Ceredigion League after they emphaticially beat Montgomeryshire Amateur League side Newtown Wanderers 6-0 at Latham Park.

Peter Almond scored twice for the Saints, with Chris Morgan, Jack Thomas, Craig Williams and Louis Harding also netting.

Lampeter Town, the 2014 winners, proved too strong for Montgomeryshire Amateur League side Llanwddyn as they triumphed 8-0. Goals from Gethin Hunter, Luke Lovell and Marc Evans also scored twice, with Richard Thomas and player-boss Terry Witts also scoring.

Crannog cruised to an emphatic 13-0 win at Felindre, with Mark Davies and Robbie Evans scoring four goals apiece. George Colven netted twice and there were goals for Huw Owens, Rhys Davies and Eifion Jones as Crannog romped to victory.

Llandysul, winners in 2017, were also far too good on the day for visitors Machynlleth Reserves as they too coasted to an 8-0 victory.

Jason Clayton led the way with four goals and the other goals came via Ashley Summers, with a brace, Kevin Jones and an own goal.

Llanboidy saw off Welshpool Town Reserves with a 4-1 win at Cae Dandre, courtesy of a Rhys Jenkins brace and one apiece for Frazer Wyatt and Dafydd Vaughan. Dillion Gill netted a reply for the very youthful visitors.

Aberporth bowed out of the competition as Dan Barton netted five goals to steer Guilsfield Reserves to a 6-2 away win, with Mark Davies also netting for the visitors.

Maesglas were also well beaten by Cambrian Tyres League side Padarn United, as a Paul James hat-trick capped an emphatic 9-1 win.

Paul Keegan bagged a brace and Billy Williams Steve Jones Matt Piglet and Jason Davies also netted.

Dewi Stars also went out at the first hurdle as two goals from Scott Beddoes sealed a 5-1 win for Trewern, with Chris Windsor, Chris Lewis and Jamie Dockerty also scoring for the home side.

Felinfach were edged out 2-1 by Tregaron Turfs, who secured their progress with goals from Deian Williams and Ifan Jones, with Kieron Boyes replying for the hosts.

Aberaeron Reserves beat Abermule Reserves 4-3, with goals from Lamin Manjagm with a brace, Cameron Jeff and TJ Gibbins. Lyndon Clayton, James Denham and Dyfrig Rees netted replies.

Bargod Rangers bowed out as Penybont United won 4-1, thanks to goals from Alphie Stonefield, Phil Ruell and Scott Davies, with a brace. Jake Kelly scored the reply.

Nathan Warren, with a brace, and Anthony Evans sealed a 3-1 win for Penparcau over Llanidloes Reserves who equalised at one stage through Adrian Foulkes.

Talybont hit back from two goals down to beat Kerry Reserves 3-2, with Ben Byrne reducing the deficit, before two late goals from Osian Thomas snatched victory.

Bont bowed out with last-gasp 1-0 defeat to Talgarth Town, with a defensive error in the last minute letting in Harry Sharman to score.

Rob Hughes, Adam Davies and an own goal saw Meifod beat Llanon 3-1, whilst Borth Reserves beat Penrhyncoch Reserves 3-1.

Meanwhile Ffostrasol and Llanilar were handed walkovers against Maesyrhandir and Builth Wells Reserves respectively, but New Quay and SDUC both withdrew.
