TYWYN/BRYNCRUG slipped to back-to-back away defeats in the MMP Mid Wales League division one as they followed up a 4-2 midweek loss at Welshpool Town with a 3-0 defeat against Bow Street.

Ricky Litchfield scored twice as Welshpool maintained second place in the league table, with a game in hand, with Ian Probert and Ed Baker also on target.

Aled Jones had scored twice for Tywyn, the first goal coming from a brilliant run from Dave Jenkins, and the second after a lovely ball played in by Jack Wilkes.

Tywyn then crashed to another away defeat at the weekend as they went down 3-0 against Bow Street at Cae Piod, with the hosts moving up to sixth position.

A Tom Wyn goal had given the Magpies the lead at the interval, before further goals by Josh Crowl and Steffan Richards sealed three points in the second half.

Unbeaten Llanidloes Town maintained a seven-point lead at the top of division one table as four first half goals set up a solid 5-2 win over Kerry in midweek

Ex-Hay Saint Mary’s striker Jack Biggs broke the deadlock when he rose well at the far post to power home a header, and ton the half-hour George Clarke’s free kick was converted by Daf Carruthers.

A minute later another free kick, this time from Adam Worton, was volleyed home by Niall Coleridge, and before the break Carruthers played in Connor Bird through on goal for a 4-0 interval lead.

Five minutes into the second half, another testing free kick from Worton saw Coleridge head in his second goal, but the Daffs were reduced to 10 men when Drew Reynolds was shown a red card.

Kerry capitalised on their one-man advantage to reduce the arrears through Max Mclaughlin and a sweet strike from Ben Hendleman, but Llanidloes remain unbeaten, with eight wins in 10 games.

Caersws consolidated a top five position as goals by Elliot Jones, Craig Harris and Jamie Hyne sealed a 3-1 derby win over Carno, who had got back on level terms through a Richie Evans leveller.

Llansantffraid hit hack from two goals down to salvage a point in a 2-2 with Four Crosses, with goals by Rob Carruthers and Wayne Austin cancelling out efforts by Olly Powell and Jamie Evans.

Aberystwyth University meanwhile launched their MMP Mid Wales League division two campaign with a solid 4-1 win against winless Knighton Town.

A Jamie Stuart hat-trick and one for Jonathan Ackroyd sealed the first three points for the students, whilst the visitors crashed to a 10th straight league defeat.

Jac Petrie scored a hat-trick as in-form Machynlleth made it four league wins on the bounce with an emphatic 7-1 win over Churchstoke, to move up to fifth place in the standings. Matt Marston replied.

Two first half goals from Jac Petrie and a great strike from Harry Vince Holt had put Mach 3-0 up at the interval, and further goals by Charlie Jellett, with a brace, Dillon Browne, and Petrie, to complete his treble, completed Mach’s scoring.

Four first half goals, including a hat-trick from skipper Aeron Powell and an Ollie Woods goal, saw Newbridge win 4-0 win at Abermule. The win moved Bridge top of the table on goal difference.
