PWLLHELI’s slide towards the relegation zone continued in the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance division one last weekend with a 2-1 defeat to Llangefni, who sealed a hat-trick of wins over them.

The hosts, managed by Adam Hall and Barry Evans, conceded the opening goal to Craig Evans on 60 minutes, but were cheered briefly by an own-goal reply on 62 - but then Llangefni’s Craig Roberts hit the winner on 72.

On Monday, Pwllheli had lost 4-0 at Llandudno Junction, with a hat-trick from Merick Knight after 42, 45 and 63 minutes and Aaron Boyle after 75.

On Wednesday, Pwllheli’s Jamie Banks netted a last-minute goal to earned a 3-3 draw with Llanrug United. Kyle Goodfellow netted on 23 minutes and Lucas Bltobic on 30, whilst the visitors scored through an own goal on 3 minutes, Gareth Lloyd Jones on 67 and David Noel Williams on 70.

Derby rivals Barmouth and Dyffryn and Penrhyndeudraeth shared the spoils for the second time in less than a fortnight as they fought out a goalless draw at Wern Mynach last weekend.

Neil Thomas fired wide for Penrhyn and Adam Smith, Iwan Thomas and Iwan Lane had chances after the break, whilst Barmouth’s Adam Morris, Shane Jones and Elwyn Edwards all threatened but failed to finish.

Last Monday Barmouth & Dyffryn United had beat Abergele Town 5-2, courtesy of goals from Chris Lewis on 10 minutes, Ieun Brooks with a hat-trick on 66, 70 and 75, and Shaun Jones with a last minute winner right on 90. Carl Evans replied on 17 and 60 miinutes and Josh Lloyd Williams on 68.

Penrhyndeudraeth had lost 3-2 to Llangefni Town on Monday, despite goals from Neil Thomas on 40 and Mark Cook on 44. Llangefni replied via Craig Roberts on 8 minutes, Craig Evans on 36 and Daniel Thomas on 80.

Glantraeth are within a whisker of clinching the league title, after a convincing 5-1 win over Llanrwst United.

Harry Galleotti netted on 9 minutes, Kieron Jeffries on 44, Corrig McGonigle on 61 and 78, and Shaun Lock on 65, whilst Luke Roberts replied on 72.

Second-placed Llandudno Junction lost ground with a 3-2 home defeat to Greenfield, whose scorers were Sam Watson after 44 minutes, Liam Robinson on 50 and Gareth Henley on 86.

Lee Ellis had scored for the hosts on 23 minutes, with an own-goal on 65.

Nantlle Vale rattled up a 6-0 tally against Abergele Town, with Aaron Hughes scoring a hat-trick on 20, 55 and 65 minutes, along with goals from Kevin Barlow on 44 minutes, Robert Owen on 80 and Jack Jones on 88.

St Asaph beat Trearddur Bay United 5-0 as Carl Murray achieved a hat-trick on 39, 46 and 67 minutes, with Adie Bell on 41 and Sam Roberts on 70.

Llanrug United beat basement outfit Glan Conwy 4-1, with Alan Mark Owen scoring on 4 minutes, Matthew Phillips on 21 and 51 and brother James on 89, whereas the losers squeezed a last-minute reply from Luke Blundell.

Meanwhile Llandyrnog United’s Mark Roberts completed a hat-trick, which secured their 3-2 away win over Llanberis, his goals being timed at 5, 38 and 70 minutes, the last from the penalty spot, whilst the visitors’ Jonathan Cyster netted on 20 and 32.

DIVISION TWO

BLAENAU Ffestiniog Amateurs returned empty-handed from their trip to play Felinheli as the hosts gained the double over them with a 3-2 win in the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance division two, after their recent 1-0 win at Cae Clyd.

Gruff John scored for the hosts on seven minutes and Irfon Emyr doubled the lead on 32 minutes, but David Copsey reduced the arrears before the break.

The second half was an even contest with Daniel Hughes increasing his side’s lead on 75 minutes, before Copsey scored with a 25 yard fine effort on 83.

Gaerwen made leaders Llandudno Albion battle for a 1-0 win, with Dave Maddox scoring the goal on 44 minutes.

Mynydd Llandegai beat Prestatyn Sports 5-4 with goals from Iwan Morris on 8 minutes, Alwyn Roberts on 15, Wyn Morris on 23, Steve Tindall from the penalty spot on 65, and Alwyn Roberts on 68. The visitors replied through an own goal on 22 minutes, Paul Watts on 32 and 48, and James Harker on 89 minutes.

Late goals from Alfie Caldecott on 77 and 87 minutes and Aden Tinswell on 89 earned Penmaenmawr Phoenix a 3-0 win away against Llanfairpwll, whilst Pentraeth drew 0-0 against Meliden.

Amlwch Town hammered Llanllyfni 8-1 with goals from Gareth Allman on 10 minutes, Luke Mcgiven on 15, Chris Byast on 41, Gareth Allman on 48, Iwan Evans on 69 and Tom Wyn Roberts on 70 and 83. Gareth Allman replied on 57.
