Bala Town 1 Flint Town United 0

HALF TIME

BALA are looking to get back to winning ways after a run of three defeats and are a goal to the good at the break, after suffering an early setback when the injured Olly Shannon had to be replaced after just three minutes, replaced by Ryan Pryce.

Bala held a minute’s silence before the match in memory of goalkeeper Alex Ramsay’s father who passed away suddenly this week, with Harri Lloyd taking his place in goal.

Steven Leslie returned from suspension with Jonny Spittle and Anthony Stephens also back in the starting eIeven, with Ryan Pryce and Shaun Kelly dropping to the bench.

After a cagey start, the home side’s first chance came on eight minutes, Chris Venables curling an effort just wide after picking up a pass by Pryce.

The Lakesiders had a goal ruled out on 18 minutes, but disappointment turned to joy when Lassana Mendes cut inside on the left hand side to bend a worldie into the top corner right hand corner.

At the other end, Harri Lloyd made a good save down well to his left to push the ball away from danger as the visitors tried to get a foothold in the game.

Will Evans fired wide as the home side continued to shape up as the better attacking outfit and had a strong penalty appeal waved away on 36 minutes, after Venables seemed to have been bundled over in the box.

And there was a late chance, for Venables again who saw his header saved after good work by Sean Smith.
