MEMBERS, leaders and friends of Llanwenog Young Farmers Club will be tackling a unique 60-mile challenge today to mark their 60th anniversary and raise money for Alzheimer’s Society Cymru.
The challenge has been divided into sections: cycling, swimming, rowing, running, walking, and the final section will be a 1.1-mile trek pulling a tractor.
“We’ve been busy training and preparing for weeks,” said a spokesperson.
During the last phase of the challenge, the club will be welcoming many past members, friends and supporters. The tractor is also 60 years old, an Allis Chalmers, owned by a past member of the club. The tractor will be pulled by a tug-of-war rope, to represent the number of years that Llanwenog YFC have been competing in the sport.
Anyone wishing to donate should go to www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Gethin-Hatcher or sponsor any of the members individually.
For more information regarding the route and timing, visit the club’s Facebook or Twitter page at @cffillanwenog.
