Madam,
May I take this opportunity to thank M&S through your paper.
This Christmas there was a card in their collection that went under the name ‘Nutivity’. It showed a stable scene in which the Holy Family were depicted as nuts.
My brother emailed the head office of M&S to say that making a cartoon of the birth of the son of God was a mockery not to be tolerated by Christians.
He had an answer the following day to say that all those cards had been withdrawn from their shops in the UK.
The word reverence seems to be forgotten. Cartoons and jokes concerning this celebration are not acceptable for Christians. Reverence and thanksgiving do not take away from the happiness of Christmas.
Thank you M&S for your immediate response.
Yours etc,
Pam McKeever, Rhydyfelin, Aberystwyth.
