Community Drop-in Clinic
DID you know that volunteers are trained by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Authority Audiology Department and hold ‘drop-in’ clinics? Come along for friendly help and advice regarding your hearing aid.Or bring your hearing aid along to be checked and serviced. The next ‘drop-in’ session will be held on Thursday, 7 July at Tywyn Baptist Church, opposite the Post Office, from 10 am until 12 noon.
Masonic Lodge Donation
Representatives of three Masonic Lodges in Tywyn, Master Alan R Evans, Corbett Lodge 1583, Master Mark Lewis, Peniarth Lodge 8257 and Principal Tom Davies, Corbet Chapter 1583 present a cheque of £1,050 to the appeal fund of Tywyn and District Memorial Hospital Appeal to chairman Morgan Vaughan, vice chairman Anne Lloyd Jones and treasurer Christine Hughes along with members of the Corbet Lodge. The money was raised in various ways including a raffle at the christmas party, ladies festival and other fund-raising from the Corbet Lodge members and donations from the two organisations.
Ophalmology donation
A NEW spectrum machine has been installed at Tywyn Hospital after it was bought by local fundraisers. The new Nidek AL-Scan Optical Bio meter at Tywyn Hospital was purchased by the local appeal fund at a cost of £18,995. Manoj Kulshrestha, Consultant Ophthalmologist, Hywel Dda Trust, is now able to do pre-operations, thus saving many miles of travelling and also allowing patients to be listed for cataract surgery sooner. This spectrum machine has been trailed and found to be very versatile and easy to use.
