A BROADCAST journalist from Llanarth has booked a job as the new face of the Royal Welsh Show.

Catrin Haf Jones, 27, who is covering the sheep pen competitions, was brought up on a farm near Cei Bach.

Speaking about her new role, she said: “Presenting from the show will be a chance to get back to my agricultural roots, but it’s also going to be a new challenge - a change from my usual hard-hitting interviews, and an opportunity to just be inquisitive and learn a little more about the challenges of showing sheep.

"I may come from a sheep farm, but the art of showing sheep is a whole different ball game."

Catrin, a journalist with the award-winning ITV-produced S4C current affairs flagship, Y Byd ar Bedwar, added: “The show is a brilliant event, full of energy, hope and pride, and it really does give the industry an opportunity to celebrate the wealth of stock and skills we have here in Wales.”
