Tributes have been paid to an RNLI volunteer who has died suddenly at the age of 45.
Emyr Williams, a long-serving and dedicated crew member at Porthdinllaen, died on Monday.
Paying tribute, Dylan Thomas, lifeboat press officer at Porthdinllaen RNLI said: “Emyr was a much-loved and respected crew member here at Porthdinllaen.
“We are absolutely devastated at the loss of such a dedicated crew member and friend.
“Emyr’s life revolved around the lifeboat here at Porthdinllaen.
“He was loved and respected by all his fellow crew members and had volunteered for over 25 years as an all-weather crew member.
“On behalf of everyone here at Porthdinllaen Lifeboat Station, I would like to send our heartfelt sympathy to Emyr’s family at this extremely difficult time.”
Owain Williams, coxswain at Porthdinllaen RNLI, said: “Emyr was an ever-present part of the crew and community at Porthdinllaen for the last 25 years.
“During that time he assisted in saving a number of lives and took part in a number of challenging rescues.
“He will be fondly remembered as a dedicated and skilled crew member but most of all as a loyal friend.
“He will be sadly missed by all who knew him, and the station at Porthdinllaen will be a poorer place for his absence. All our thoughts go out to his family at this sad times.”
