THE Meirionnydd Special Riding Group held its annual Open Day at Bwlch Gwyn Riding Stables, Arthog.

The group has been in existence for over 40 years and is run entirely by volunteers from all over Gwynedd who give up their time to offer riding and horse care opportunities for those with additional needs.

Awards this year were as follows: Most improved rider: Amelie Holmes, Ysgol Craig y Deryn, Llanegryn; Best effort: Tyler Beaty, Aran Hall School, Rhydymain; Special Achievement: Wilfred Benskin-Mesher, Ysgol Tanygrisiau; Stable Management Award: Cari Haf Jones, Ysgol y Moelwyn; The Di Derry Award for adults: Katie Collingswood, Tywyn.

The Open Day was supported by the Inner-Wheel of Tywyn who came to present the morning’s awards and by the Mayor of Dolgellau who spent the day with the group.
