A SPECIAL service to celebrate the life of a former Aberystwyth Salvation Army volunteer is being held on Monday.
The branch is holding the service to give people the chance to say goodbye after Bridget Clifford passed away recently.
Miss Clifford, who was 89, was a volunteer with the Salvation Army and was a member of the Catholic Church in Aberystwyth. She was originally from Ireland, which is where her funeral was held.
Lieutenant Claire Durrant, of the Salvation Army Aberystwyth Corps, said the special service has been organised to give people in the town to chance to celebrate Miss Clifford’s life.
She said: “Bea was a member of the Catholic Church but we shared her too with midweek activities. She passed away at Min y Mor and was returned to Ireland to her family for her funeral, so our service here will allow those in Aberystwyth to say goodbye.”
The service takes place at 1.30pm at the Salvation Army building on Alexandra Road.
