Youngsters at a Dolgellau school have received a lesson in road safety after a girl was involved in a near-miss with a passing car.
PCSO Gareth Jones conducted a road safety presentation at Ysgol Bro Idris with foundation phase pupils following the incident.
It is believed that the girl was trying to cross the road in front of the school when she was almost hit by the car.
The incident has sparked concerns over the danger caused to children at the school because of cars parking on the road.
The children enjoyed the lesson from PCSO Jones and are now making practical use of their road safety lessons when crossing the road.
A Gwynedd Council spokesperson said: “As a council, we work with schools across the county to promote active travel and encourage more people to walk and cycle to school.
“As part of this work, we work closely with schools to provide road safety advice for pupils and parents.
“Council officers have also recently met with Ysgol Bro Idris’ headteacher to discuss parking matters and whether any additional safety improvements can be considered for the area.”
