THe work of Blaenau Ffestiniog photographer Rory Trappe has been included in a BBC book.
The image, taken in 2004, is in Countryfile – A Picture of Britain, which has been released to raise money for Children in Need.
“It was one of my first digital images,” Rory told Maes, “taken at Cwmorthin near Blaenau Ffestiniog”.
“A friend informed me about the BBC Countryfile calendar competition so I submitted three images for consideration.
“I think there were around 20,000 images submitted and I was fortunate to have this featured in the 2005 Calendar.
“I had almost forgotten about the image when I was told that someone had seen it in Countryfile – A Picture of Britain.
“I ordered one and when it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see it, especially as they had featured it across two pages.”
He added: “The book is a selection of calendar entries from 2004 to 2020. I am sure the book will raise funds for the BBC Children in Need charity.”
