Youngsters in Barmouth have come up with a novel way of tackling the problem of dog poo on playing fields in the town.

The reception class at Ysgol y Traeth have been filling plastic bottles with bags so that dog owners can pick up after their pets on Wern Mynach.

The idea came from Year 6 pupils and the reception class have been refilling bottles weekly while making trips to the playing fields.

The pupils have also erected bird boxes in the area.
