MEIRIONNYDD pupils have been busy baking to raise money for charity.
The pupils at Ysgol Uwchradd Tywyn rolled up their sleeves and put on their pinnies to bake cakes for this year’s Macmillan coffee morning.
Pictured top left are Ben Richards, Year 7, and Mia Rickard, Year 8, who were joint winners of the Best Baker competition.
At the cake stall top right are Year 11 pupils Beth Pugh and Seren Tregenza, who kindly volunteered to sell the amazing variety of cakes (pictured left) at break time.
The event raised £293.47 and organiser Bethan Williams was delighted. She said: “The pupils, their families and staff provided the school with an amazing array of cakes and biscuits to sell so we would like to thank them very much for making this event so successful. We decided to hold a Best Baker competition for a little extra fun. Awarding the winner was a difficult decision, as the standard was exceptional, but after much deliberation we awarded two pupils joint first place for their wonderful cupcakes.
“Well done to everyone involved.”
