Former Ceredigion MP Mark Williams says he is ready to fight to regain his seat if a snap election is called.

Liberal Democrat Mark Williams lost his seat in Parliament to Ben Lake of Plaid Cymru in the 2017 General Election.

Speaking to local Liberal Democrats, Mr Williams said: “This will be a historic election.

“Ceredigion is a constituency that is clearly a close call between the two Remain parties, with pro-Brexit parties far behind.

“Both Plaid Cymru and the Liberal Democrats have been clear that Ceredigion will not be part of any agreement to stand down for one another.

“I will be standing on my record as an MP who stood up for Ceredigion, who got things done, who worked for all of my constituents regardless of their politics, and who will give this county the strong and experienced voice in Parliament that it needs at this difficult time.”
