COUNCILLORS will visit Aberystwyth Town Football Club tomorrow to decide whether to give the go-ahead to the second phase of a major development.
It was reported in the Cambrian News last week that the decision whether to approve or refuse the application to build a further 24 apartments and a new 500-seat stadium was deferred in order to allow councillors to visit the football club.
The plans, which also include new changing rooms, a lounge bar and leisure facilities, are the second phase in a major redevelopment of the Park Avenue club following the approval of 33 apartments and a new 3G pitch in October.
Despite some concerns over the plans regarding the flooding risk and a potential for noise nuisance during and after construction, officers have recommended approving the application and a site inspection panel will visit the club at 10am on Monday, 27 June.
The public are welcome to attend and discuss the plans with councillors and the applicants. The panel will report back to members of the planning committee at the next meeting on Wednesday, 13 July, where a vote on the application is likely to be held.
