DOLGELLAU’s court building is back on the market for more than twice the price it was sold for just two weeks ago.

The courthouse failed to sell in a Manchester auction house but was subsequently sold to a private buyer after the event.

It was later reported at a town council meeting that the building had sold for approximately £45,000, although the actual figure and the buyer are not known.

However, the building was this week listed for sale on the internet by estate agents PrimeLocation with a guide price of £99,950.

There had been plans for a local action group, The Dolgellau Court Committee, to turn the building into a heritage centre for the town, which would also act as a tourist information centre.

However, they were surprised to be informed that the building was instead to be put up for auction, with a guide price of £75,000.
