GWYNEDD Council has been accused of abandoning two “revolting” bins near a popular footpath.
Mike Rickard, 70, contacted the Cambrian News saying the bins are laden with filled dog-poo bags, and that was unable to get the council to remove them.
The bins, which are close to Aberdyfi’s cemetery, are beside a well-used path which visitors and locals use to get the town’s beach.
Mike was worried that the bins blight one of Wales’ most scenic landscapes.
“The bins are absolutely disgusting,” he said.
“They are absolutely filled with rubbish and dog poo and look abhorrent. By the looks of it, they’ve been there for quite sometime and they seem to be attracting more and more refuse - perhaps the council has forgotten about them?
In response to the claims, a Gwynedd Council spokesperson said the council will be arranging for the bins to be attended to.
