DOLGELLAU ground to a halt last week after a driver left a car blocking a road.

The car was parked on a corner, near The Ship Hotel in the heart of the market town, and not enough space was left for a bus to get past.

This led to other buses to Wrexham, Bangor, and Aberystwyth being disrupted and a traffic jam built up for over half an hour before the owner of the car was located and the vehicle moved.

A police spokesperson said: “We received a call just after 3pm reporting a car parked in the road outside The Ship Hotel, Dolgellau.

“This had caused quite a build up of traffic in the town.

“The owner eventually returned to their car and they were advised not to park their car in that location again.”
