NOTORIOUS prisoner Charles Bronson — now known as Charles Salvador — has donated a painting to help a young cerebral palsy sufferer pay for rehab following spinal surgery.

Known as Britain’s most dangerous prisoner, he went to prison for seven years in 1974 for armed robbery, and has regularly had his sentence extended for crimes including hostage-taking and attacking prison guards.

But Salvador, who has a mother in Aberystwyth and a brother in Talybont, has often helped raise money for causes close to his heart by creating and donating original artwork to be auctioned off.

One such cause Salvador has taken it up on himself to help is that of Ben Baddeley, an 11-year-old cerebral palsy sufferer from Staffordshire who had potentially life-changing surgery cancelled by the NHS just a week before he was due to go under the knife because of funding cuts.

A spokesperson for the Charles Salvador Art Foundation said: “Charles Bronson (now Salvador) has been touched by the plight of cerebral palsy sufferer Ben.

“The Charles Salvador Art Foundation has donated a rare Ron Kray tribute piece, with all proceeds to go to Ben’s Fund.”
