A Felin Fach Centre arts and craft group, called the Twiddle Mitt Knitters, have decided to make mittens to donate to dementia clubs in Gwynedd.
The women, with support from the centre, wanted to give something back to the community on behalf of Felin Fach.
The idea began after creating a few mittens for a local dementia group who were so delighted with the idea that they asked for more to give to dementia sufferers.
Helena, the marketing manager in Felin Fach, said: “The mittens are quite special because they have different objects stuck to them such as nuts and bolts, buttons and keys.
“This is so dementia sufferers can also feel something that is known to them, along with see. We make them for men and women.”
The EMI Ward in Ysbyty Bryn Beryl will be next on the Twiddle Mitt Knitters list to donate and there are plans to go further afield.
The group are willing to donate to any dementia group that asks.
The group also asks kindly for donations of wool, buttons, ribbon, keys, nuts and bolts or cotton reels so they can continue making them.
