A Bow Street girl has donated over 12 inches of her hair to a charity that helps youngsters who have lost their hair to illness, as well as raising over £300.
Six-year-old Lilah Smith, a pupil at Ysgol Rhydypennau, said she wanted to help “other princesses” so had her long hair cut to help the Little Princess Trust.
As well as donating her hair, Lilah has also raised more than £300 on a JustGiving page and through other donations, well above her £100 target, for the trust with Lilah’s mum Rachel Watt saying Lilah had been determined to help other youngsters.
Rachel said: “Her hair was very long, right down to the bottom of her back, and she had suggested having it cut a few times so I told her about the Little Princess Trust and what they do.
“Lilah thought it would be really good to give ‘other princesses’ who were poorly and had lost their hair, a donation of her own hair for it to be made into a wig.
“Our original target was £100 and we’ve been overwhelmed by the generosity of family and friends - and some people who we don’t know.”
