TWO of the people behind Hinterland have come together to make a Welsh feature film, which will be shown in Aberystwyth this week as part of the WOW Wales One World Film Festival.

Ed Talfan, co-creator and producer of the detective series, and Gareth Bryn, who has directed numerous episodes of the show, have come together to make Yr Ymadawiad (The Passing), which will be screened in Aberystwyth on Thursday (10 March) at 8.15pm.

There will also be a Q&A with the pair after the screening as well as a masterclass with them at 6pm.

This is the first feature from Welsh director Gareth Bryn, which has been written by Ed.

“I worked with Welsh novelist Caryl Lewis, from Ceredigion, on the Welsh-language adaptation,” Ed explained.

The film is co-produced by Talfan and Kate Crowther, producer on the current series of Raised by Wolves on Channel 4.

It’s the first film from Welsh production company Severn Screen and has been funded by Ffilm Cymru Wales and S4C and made in association with Boom Cymru.

It stars Mark Lewis Jones (as Stanley), Annes Elwy (as Sara) and Dyfan Dwyfor (as Iwan).

The festival takes place at Aberystwyth Arts Centre, Chapter in Cardiff, Taliesin Arts Centre in Swansea and Theatr Clwyd in Mold from Thursday, 10 March.
