THE clinical director of the Mid Wales Healthcare Collaborative will step down from the role as she concentrates on her work as a GP in Borth.
Dr Sue Fish has been the clinical programme director for the collaborative since it was formed two years ago.
She will relinquish the role at the end of March.
Hywel Dda Health Board’s Ceredigion county director Peter Skitt is taking over the role.
Tributes have been paid to Dr Fish for her work as part of the collaborative which will continue for at least another year as it looks to address issues around service provision in mid Wales.
Dr Fish said: “I have enjoyed working as part of the Mid Wales Healthcare Collaborative and would like to thank everyone for the support that they have given me.
“As a local GP I am looking forward to continuing to work with colleagues and members of the public in north Ceredigion to deliver the plans that the Mid Wales Healthcare Collaborative have developed over the last two years.”
Jack Evershed, one of the co-chairs of the collaborative, paid tribute to Dr Fish’s work.
In a statement from Mr Evershed and his joint co-chair Dr Ruth Hall, he said: “The first two years of the MWHC focussed on the recommendations of the Longley report. Sue’s experience and contacts as a GP and medical director were invaluable in getting the work started.
“Much progress has been made in collaborative planning between the health boards that cover mid Wales and talks are underway with Royal Colleges about how services in Bronglais can be maintained and enhanced."
