A family have been left traumatised after a firework was lit and pushed through the letterbox at their home.

The incident happened in the early hours at the home of Mary Jones, pictured, and her three children in Llithfaen.

Speaking to the Cambrian News about the incident, which took place overnight on 19 October, Mrs Jones, 44, said: “It could have happened any time between 10pm on Saturday and the early hours of Sunday morning. The firework was found before 9am on the Sunday.”

When the family woke up on Sunday morning, they were horrified to find the remains of a firework in their letter box.

“It damaged the letter box and a bit of the wall. We were terrified and shocked,” Mrs Jones said.

“I reported it to the police and we are waiting to hear back from forensics.”
