Former Wales football international John Cornforth will be taking joint charge of Ceredigion League outfit Llandysul FC for a day next month.
The ex-Swansea City captain will co-manage the Swallows in a one-off league game on 29 February before hosting a post-match Q&A session and raffle.
His visit is the brainchild of his close pal, Llandysul FC boss Gareth Winston.
“It’s great for local football,” he told the Cambrian News. “It will also be a good insight for our players and club to see what it is like to be managed by a professional footballer.”
In addition to representing Wales, Mr Cornforth also played for Wales, Exeter City, Sunderland and Birmingham City, as well as managing clubs such as Exeter City, Torquay United and Newport County in the Football League.
He was manager at Exeter City when Uri Geller and Michael Jackson were the owners and famously released ex-Man Utd, Leeds Utd and England winger Lee Sharpe during his spell in charge.
He also spent time coaching in the Middle East.
Voted one of the best-ever Swansea City players, Mr Cornforth is mentioned on a plaque on the Liberty Stadium’s Wall of Fame.
Llandysul will be charging £7 entry for the Q&A session in their pitchside pavilion which will also include food and drinks.
