This photograph was taken at the launch of a new anthology on Saturday, 10 February at Mulberry Bush Wholefoods in Lampeter, Ceredigion. The launch event was organised ‘Words on Troubled Waters’, an anthology of poetry and prose by 10 local writers. The book collates their responses to the situation in which our beloved river, Afon Teifi flows.
It celebrates her beauty but expresses unease and anger at her pollution. These writings were part of ‘Art on Troubled Waters’, an Afon Teifi exhibition held at The Seagull Gallery in Cardigan last autumn. Many of those original exhibits are on display at Mulberry Bush. ‘Words on Troubled Waters’ includes work by Kathy Miles, Sue Moules and Josie Rashmi Smith, amongst many others. It was edited by Simone Mansell Broome and all profits will be donated to local river charities. The book is on sale, at £6.50, at select local outlets, including Oriel Ty Llwyd in St Dogmaels, and directly from Simone. To order visit www.simonemansellbroome.com.
