Students at Ysgol Hafod Lon have held a premiere to showcase a film they’ve produced from scratch.
Entitled Drysau Dirgel or Mysterious Doors, pupils from the Glaslyn and Wyddfa classes, aged 15-18-years-old, created the film from storyboard to screen.
The film consists of several short stories linked together and everything from concept, wardrobe and shot was created by the students.
On Thursday, the school rolled out the red carpet and pupils enjoyed the star treatment at their very own premiere at the school.
The project was funded by a project called Ysgolion Arweiniol Creadigol.
Art teacher, Meilyr Wyn, explained: “The grant was used to help bring two actors, Gwion Aled Williams and Emyr Gibson into the school.
“The project’s aim was to raise the confidence and communication skills of the pupils involved.
“Drysau Dirgel is a series of short films – and one quarter-hour substantial film – were created as part of the initiative.
“It was a fun and valuable project for the children.
“All pupils had improved their communication skills and increased their confidence through opportunities for acting, filming and editing.
“The finished film is great!”
Ysgol Hafod Lon is a daily school for pupils with a wide range of additional needs.
