A SCHOOL in Porthmadog has raised almost £8,000 for an adventure trail.

Pupils and parents at Ysgol Eifion Wyn have taken part in various events to raise the money, the target of which has now been met.

On 13 July, a sponsored ‘Run Your Age’ event was held at the school. In their bubbles, children ran a lap of the school yard matching their age.

For example, a pupil of six years old would run six laps of the school yard.

The children managed to raise a huge amount through sponsorship.

Parents also arranged a raffle which has raised £1,000.

At the start of July a fundraising page was launched and shared on social media. This generated some generous donations from local businesses and the wider community.
