A STICKER designed to help protect and preserve wildlife and coastal ecosystems has been designed by two talented schoolchildren.
Year 7 pupils from five secondary schools on the coast of Pen Llyn a’r Sarnau Special Area of Conservation – Ysgol Botwnnog, Ysgol Glan y Môr, Ysgol Eifionydd, Ysgol Ardudwy and Ysgol Uwchradd Tywyn – were asked to create a design that promotes the marine code and encourage seafarers to respect wildlife.
The sticker will be free to all those who have registered their boat in Gwynedd, or to anyone who wishes to promote the maritime code on their boat, kayak, or jetski.
The two winners were Liberty Goddard and Madoc Patterson of Ysgol Ardudwy, and their work was merged into one compelling design.
For winning the competition, a £100 prize was awarded to the school last week out of the Gwynedd Council Chairman’s Fund and was presented by chair Eric Jones and Abersoch councillor Wyn Williams, both long-time proponents of supporting the marine code.
