DOLGELLAU said goodbye to two long-serving teachers on the final day of the academic year.
Acting headteacher, David Jones and Llinos Rowlands, assistant headteache, of Ysgol y Gader will both be retiring at the end of this term, handing over the keys of the school to the new headmistress of Ysgol Bro Idris, Jano Owen.
Mr Jones and Mrs Rowlands started teaching on the same day 20 years ago, specialising in Mathematics and English respectively.
Mr Jones started his career at Ysgol Ardudwy in Harlech and Mrs Rowlands at Ysgol Uwchradd Tywyn.
Mr Jones said: "It’s been an absolute privilege teaching the young people of the area and I’ve enjoyed every minute. We are handing over the school to Ysgol Bro Idris having achieved some of the best results on record within the county and I wish Jano Owen and all the staff and pupils of the new school all the best for the future”.
Mrs Rowlands added: “Working in my own community has been a pleasure and has provided me with the best working years of my life. I will miss the pupils and my work colleagues immensely.”
