A Crymych woman who glassed a total stranger in a Cardigan pub will be sentenced in crown court.
Hannah Hayes, 38, pleaded guilty to causing actual bodily harm on Abi Price on 9 February, with magistrates hearing that Ms Price was left with a scar after suffering a serious cut to the side of her eye in the incident.
Ceri Ellis-Jones, prosecuting, said Ms Price had been in the Black Lion in Cardigan with friends at the time and was on her phone when she was approached by Hayes, of 10 Maes yr Yrfa.
Hayes started talking to Ms Price saying “You’re playing”, but Ms Price didn’t pay attention as she did not know Hayes.
However, Hayes started talking to Ms Price again calling her a “moody b****”, before suggesting they “take it outside”.
Ms Ellis-Jones said Ms Price didn’t touch or confront Hayes, but said she may have knocked over a drink, but that Hayes then took a glass and threw it at Ms Price, hitting her in the eye.
She said Ms Price suffered a swollen and bruised left eye and a cut by the side of her eye, which left a scar.
In a victim impact statement, Ms Price said the incident had left her fearful of socialising in Cardigan in case she is the victim of another attack or comes across Hayes.
Ms Ellis-Jones said as the case involved Hayes using a glass as a weapon and a serious injury, that it should go to crown court for sentencing.
Magistrates agreed and released Hayes on unconditional bail until a sentencing hearing at Swansea Crown Court on Friday, 3 January.
