A FIFTH man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent following an incident that left an Aberystwyth student in a coma in hospital.

Michael Arwyn Jones, 24, of Waunwen Farmhouse, Llanfair Clydogau, was remanded in custody on Tuesday charged with grievous bodily harm with intent on Ifan Owens.

The four other men previously charged with the same offence - David Robert Lloyd, 25; Billy Michael Valentine, 19; Andrew Raymond John Scott, 23; and Lee Andersen-Warnes, 20 - are also in custody.

They are all due to appear at Swansea Crown Court on 11 May.
