A LLANYBYDDER man who was holding a smartphone while driving and “appeared to reading the screen” has been fined by magistrates.
Llanelli magistrates heard on 2 May that Karl Lovell, of 18 Bro Einon, was “seen holding a light blue coloured smartphone device in his left hand” while driving a Ford Transit on the A40 near Brecon on 6 October last year.
Lovell, 39, was fined £220 and had his driving record endorsed with three points.
He must also pay £90 costs and an £88 surcharge.
