A CHAMPION athlete from Machynlleth will stand trial in September charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbed at an athletics stadium in Birmingham.
Lauren Jeska of Wesley Terrace, an Aberystwyth University research assistant, remains on remand at HMP Styal in Cheshire charged with the attempted murder of 51-year-old, Ralph Knibbs, and wounding two other men, Tim Begley and Kevin Taylor, with intent.
Jeska, 41, appeared for the second time at Birmingham Crown Court on Thursday, 16 June, where a trial date was set for Tuesday, 22 September.
A further pre-trial hearing will take place on Friday, 29 July.
Jeska also faces a charge of possessing three bladed weapons: 12cm and 13cm kitchen knives, and a 30cm bread knife.
Police were called to the Alexander Stadium in Perry Barr just before 10.30am on 22 March this year after reports a man had been stabbed.
