An Aberaeron man has been cleared of charges of threatening a man with a machete.

Ian Tanner, of the The Flat, Ianthe House, 17 Market Street, was charged with threatening Jamie Howells with a billhook machete “in such a way that there was an immediate risk of serious physical harm to that person” at his home address on 8 April last year.

The 70-year-old had denied the charge.

Taner was found not guilty at Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on 20 August.
