A Tywyn couple have raised money for Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth after tragically losing their baby boy born at just 20 weeks.
Erika Arrowsmith and Tom Pughe raised the £1,600 in aid of Gwenllian Ward, Bronglais Hospital, Aberystwyth to buy a Cuddle Cot in memory of their son Chester Joseph Pughe who was born too soon in May 2018.
Erika and Tom said: “We fund-raised in memory of our baby boy Chester Joseph. He was born on 4 May 2018 at 20 weeks.
“We’ve been overwhelmed by the generosity of our family, friends and the local community that have helped us raise so much money.
“We were very fortunate to spend a night with Chester because of a Cuddle Cot.
“We wanted to remember our son the only way we could by raising money in his name for Gwenllian Ward.”
Abigail O’Connor, bereavement midwife at Bronglais Hospital said: “I wish to convey my sincere thanks to Erika and Tom, their friends and family for such a generous donation and raising money to purchase a Cuddle Cot for us.
“A Cuddle Cot is a specialist piece of equipment which enables bereaved parents to spend time with their baby and make precious memories in the short time that they have together.
“This equipment will truly make a difference.”
