The winner of a competition to win a Criccieth cottage has been announced.
Owners Ryan McLean and Katherine Jablonowska set up the raffle for Cwellyn Cottage to raise money for The Children’s Society and to give someone the chance to win a ‘dream home’.
Today, that person was announced as Janet Shepherd.
The lucky winner was picked at random during at Facebook live event at midday, on the couple’s competition page.
The draw was verified by a solicitor.
The excited couple called the winner repeatedly, finally getting through to Janet who said she was on her lunch break at work.
Ceres Brunning won £10,000 for sharing the competition’s URL.
One lucky person was guaranteed to win the cottage in today’s draw when ticket sales reached the minimum number of sales needed to award the prize.
Ryan and Katherine launched the competition to win Cwellyn Cottage earlier this year, saying they said they would need to sell a minimum of 80,000 tickets to award the two-bedroom luxury retreat, and a cash prize would be given instead, if they failed to reach their target.
However, the couple passed their target and awarded the prize today.
