One lucky person is now guaranteed to win a cottage near Criccieth, as ticket sales have reached the minimum number of sales needed to award the prize.
Ryan Mclean and Katherine Jablonowska launched a competition to win Cwellyn Cottage, and raise money for charity, earlier this year.
They said they would need to sell a minimum of 80,000 tickets to award the two-bedroom luxury retreat, and a cash prize would be given instead, if they failed to reach their target.
However, the couple told the Cambrian News they have now passed their target and one lucky winner will receive the cottage when the draw is made in September.
The £5 tickets are also raising money for The Children’s Society.
Joe Jenkins, director of engagement and income generation at The Children’s Society, said: “We are bowled over by the generosity of Katherine, Ryan and everyone who has entered the competition so far.
“Every penny raised helps us in our mission to change the lives of some of the country’s most vulnerable children and young people, including those at risk of sexual and criminal exploitation, those struggling with mental ill-health and young refugees.”
Entry to the competition is still open.
Entrants must correctly answer a trivia question about the local area and buy a £5 entry ticket via the couple’s website – or a free postal option is also available.
The couple have also pledged to award £10,000 to the person who generates the most ticket sales by sharing a URL they receive on entering.
Entrants have the option of adding a £1 donation to their online ticket purchase to The Children’s Society.
Having reached their minimum sales target, Ryan and Katherine have confirmed they will match the donations made.
“The support we have received has been absolutely incredible, and we certainly wouldn’t be here without our amazing entrants,” they said.
“So far we have transferred £30,333 to The Children’s Society, who have put the money directly to their vital projects across the UK, so thank you!
“We have one month left so make sure to click that donation box if you decide to enter again!”
The competition closes on Tuesday, 15 September and the winner will be drawn on Wednesday, 30 September, live-streamed on Facebook.
