A group of pupils have been told to self-isolate after a Covid-19 case was confirmed at an Aberystwyth primary school.

Ceredigion County Council has confirmed that pupils in a contact group at Ysgol Gynradd Llwyn yr Eos, Penparcau, have been told to self-isolate for 14 days following the confirmation of a Covid-19 case at the school.

A spokesperson for Ceredigion Council said: “The contact group has been asked to self-isolate due to being close contacts of a confirmed Covid-19 case at the school.

“These pupils and staff must remain at home for 14 days to reduce the possible spread of the virus to family, friends and the wider community.

“Due to the strong procedures that have been put in place in the school, only one Contact Group is being asked to self-isolate.

“All parents have been contacted by the school and will also be supported by Ceredigion Contact Tracing Team.”
