Town council request

So far there have been few responses to New Quay Town Council’s request to the public for concerns and ideas regarding New Quay. There is still time to e-mail ideas to town clerk Dana Jones at [email protected] or New Quay’s Mayor Cllr Dan Potter, [email protected] or comments can be submitted at Sheffield House.

Camera club

Members attending this Thursday’s meeting could have been excused for thinking that they’d entered a chemistry laboratory, as the guest, renowned photographer Alan Squires from Caerphilly, had assembled an elaborate, somewhat ‘Heath Robinson’ contraption, to collide tiny jets of paint and water.

Alan also used a sound diaphragm to bounce paint. Combined with synchronised lighting, these created spectacular colour images, which, enthralled members were able to capture with their cameras.

The next meeting, on Thursday, 16 November,in the Memorial Hall, will be a practical, studio, evening, to see if members can emulate, the images of Alan Squires.

New members are always very welcome.
