Leg Club
ONLY Legs Aloud’s summer outing took them to Ludlow on Saturday, 19 August, with a further stop off on return.
They went to the New Ludlow Food Centre and the historic Clive Hotel, enjoyed a tour around Ludlow, then had a buffet at Mellington Hall.
Lindy gave thanks to Mori, Dan and Celtic Travel for a very enjoyable day’s outing.
Noah’s Ark
IN addition to the regular Noah’s Ark Sponsored Walk every year, a separate group referred to as the ‘Llani Boys for Noah’s Ark’ collect sponsorship money on a walk for the children’s hospital in Cardiff.
This year the Llani Boys will be undertaking their sponsored walk on 1 October.
They will travel by Celtic Travel Coach from Llanidloes to Ponterwydd where they will walk for 14 miles to Talybont and then get the coach back to Llanidloes.
Anyone willing to sponsor them please contact Les Jones 01686 413125.
Also anyone interested in joining the group and completing the walk call the same number.
Vigil for peace
ON Monday, 11 September, from 7pm-8pm there will be a silent candle-lit vigil before the International Arms Fair opens.
The UK is hosting the world’s biggest international Arms Fair in London and the Quakers and CAAT have organised this vigil to ‘stop the arms fair’ in solidarity with victims of the arms trade.
Meet at the top of Great Oak Street at 6.30pm, bring a candle, a jar and a chair if you need one.
It will be the same time as those holding a vigil outside the gates of the Arms Fair in London.
St John
LLANIDLOES St John Division is participating once again in the ‘Save a Life in September Campaign’.
Training sessions are available on 6 September, 7pm-9pm, 12 September (2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm), (child and baby specific first aid), 13 September (10am-12pm, 2pm-4pm, and 7-9pm), 20 September (7pm-9pm) and 27 September (7pm-9pm).

Millennium Garden
THE Llanidloes Millennium Garden is a garden maintained by volunteers.
They are looking for more volunteers to join the happy group.
Come once or every week, they meet in the garden on Friday mornings, 9am-10am, (weather permitting).

Dementia Friends meeting
COME to a public meeting on 19 September at 6pm at Chatwood, Longbridge Street.
A dementia-friendly community is supportive and inclusive of anybody affected by dementia.
In these communities people with dementia are empowered to have aspirations and feel confident, knowing they can contribute and live the life they want.
