Rotary Club
FOR over 30 years, Rotary has been committed to fighting to eradicate polio across the world. The amount of polio-endemic countries has dropped from 125 to just three, with over 2.5 billion children receiving vaccinations thanks to the help of Rotary. This amount will be tripled thanks to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and will be added to the global effort. The club has also recently carried out a survey following the placement of a defibrillator opposite the town’s Spar supermarket. The outcome highlighted that only one in 20 residents would be confident enough to use the equipment if the situation arose.
