IVOR Mace, an RHS speaker, gave a very interesting talk in March about Growing Your Own Vegetables for the Kitchen. He gave some useful tips on rotation techniques and how to test your soil to decide what to add to it to get the best vegetables.
Next month’s meeting on Wednesday, 4 April, is a visit from Joseph Atkin, the head gardener at Aberglasney.
He will be talking about Succession in the Garden and how to create a long season of interest in the garden by using trees, shrubs, bulbs, herbaceous perennials and annual/tender ornamentals.
The meeting is held in the Red Dragon Hall and starts at 7.30pm.
Drefach Felindre Gardening Club meetings are usually held on the first Wednesday of each month at The Red Dragon Hall from 7.30pm.
Free refreshments are served following the speaker’s presentation and club members bring along items for the raffle, such as spare plants and garden produce.
They also organise a seed swap.
