The Treorchy Male Choir drew a crowd of over 300 when they performed in Llanidloes, raising £2,000 for the local community centre.
The world-famous choir’s repertoire included a mixture of traditional Welsh and more modern songs from England, Europe and the USA, most of which had been arranged by the choir’s musical director Jeffrey Howard.
The programme was also interspersed with instrumental solos by outstanding musicians from Llanidloes High School: Finn Macken on trombone, Ruby Koffer on cello and Rhys Jones who sang and played guitar.
The combined Llanidloes Schools Choir also performed, under the direction of Haf Evans.
A highlight was the children joining with the Treorchy choir to sing You Raise Me Up.
The concert raised £2,000 for the community centre, which desperately needs a new roof.
The directors of Llanidloes Community Centre thanked all those who helped with the concert.
