CLIMATE campaigners from across west Wales are to take part in a bus tour warning of ecological issues.

On Thursday 29 September Aberystwyth XR will be hosting the Change-is-Now Bus Tour on the Promenade.

It will be welcomed by the Mayor of Aberystwyth Dr Talat Zafar Chaudhri .  Members of the bus and local XR will be on hand to discuss climate and ecological issues.

The Change is Now Bus is part of a nation-wide tour raising awareness of the climate and ecological crisis, and how it connects to cost-of-living.

Aberystwyth and Machynlleth are two of over 60 towns and cities that will be visited early Autumn.

On Saturday 1 October the Change-is-Now bus will be in Machynlleth.

At 12 noon the Machynlleth group will host a Climate & Community March for All. The group will also take time to remember April Jones from Machynlleth on this key anniversary.

At 2pm at the Owain Glyndwr Institute, there will be a People’s Assembly discussing the Climate and Ecological, Energy, and Cost of Living challenges and how we might deal with these together.

The bus will have outreach sessions as it travels through Wales to hear from local people and offer ways to get involved to demand action on the climate and wildlife.  Please come along to talk to the crew and share ideas.

Susanna, a spokesperson for Aberystwyth XR, said: “It is now clear how the cost-of-living crisis is a direct result of the climate and ecological crises.

This summer the UK suffered temperatures up to 40 degrees, followed by flooding and sewage on our beaches.

“With a predicted crop failure of up to 50 per cent oil and gas companies continue to rake in billions in profits, and our government seems set on helping them do it. As ordinary people, we must do something before it’s too late.”
